The Building

The building is probably about 200 years old, built in the time when Riga was a major trading center of the Hanseatic League. It is situated about 7 minutes walk from the Old Town of Riga on Kristaina Barona, one of the more popular shopping streets in Riga. The building would originally have had 8 apartments on 4 floors but nowadays the ground floor has been taken over to retail with a leading clothes shop, Benetton currently in situ. Riga Penthouse is on the top floor and to get there one enters from the side of the building and climb approximately 50 steps but don’t worry there are 3 landing on which to rest!
